An internal memo circulating in the the camp of UT Bank reveals that CEO of the bank Kofi Amoabeng is set to announce his retirement before the year 2016,Citi News can confirm.
The bank which is currently in crisis has seen a drastic fall of its share price on the Ghana Stock Exchange(GSE) from o.45 cedis at the beginning of the year to 0.25cedis to the end of the year haven’t had a stable performance for the past two years and also the resignation of the former Deputy Managing Director Mrs Pearl Esua Mensah in May 2015 being a major factor.
Mr Amoabeng who is a co-owner of the bank said the woes or bad performance of UT did not start in the first quarter of this year,the past two years were not good.”We hit rock bottom at the first quarter of 2015 and as we speak the worst is over and we are inn a positive mood again.
The Boss who holds a first degree in Business Administration at the University of Ghana,Legon,a member of the Chattered Institute of Management Accountants(CIMA-UK) and a member of the Chattered Accountant of Ghana(CA).
He also holds several positions such as Chairman of the Councel of Enablis Ghana,a member of the International Advisory Board of China Europe International Business School(CEIBS).
